Lucknow: Launching a blistering attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused the Yogi Adityanath government of massive corruption, linking it directly to the Chief Minister’s official residence. Speaking at the ‘Vision India’ event on Monday, Yadav claimed that a “pipeline of corruption” connects right to 5 Kalidas Marg, asserting that graft has reached its peak in both government departments and the sacred Ram Mandir.

Addressing the recent allegations of donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the former Chief Minister alleged a massive cover up. He stated that the ongoing investigation is merely a facade designed to protect the real culprits. “In the Ram Mandir donation theft case, only the small fish are being caught, while the big fish are being deliberately let go. Under such circumstances, how can anyone say the probe is fair?” Yadav questioned.

Sharpening his political attack, Yadav cautioned the public about the ruling party’s intentions. He warned that those capable of stealing religious offerings could easily steal votes and even Members of Parliament. Highlighting a shift in the ruling party’s priorities, he remarked that the BJP is no longer focused on the nation but solely on collecting donations. He confidently predicted that the ruling party would soon face a total rejection by the public, losing out on gifts, funds, and electoral votes alike.

Beyond the religious controversy, the Samajwadi Party supremo heavily criticised the state government’s track record on education, employment, and law and order. He slammed the repeated paper leaks that have plagued Uttar Pradesh, stating they have severely weakened the foundation of education. Pointing out the closure of primary schools due to a lack of funds, he dismissed the government’s budgetary claims as empty promises with zero ground impact.

Promising a complete overhaul if his party comes to power, Yadav labelled the New Education Policy as flawed and vowed to replace it. His key electoral promises included completely free education from Class 1 to 12 for all students, and free education from Kindergarten to Post Graduation specifically for girls. He also proposed a uniform education system and push for reservation policies in the private sector.

Concluding his address, Yadav painted a grim picture of the state’s security apparatus. He claimed that the law and order system has completely collapsed, leaving ordinary citizens without justice. The Samajwadi Party leader emphasised that the only way to save the Constitution and democracy is to remove the current government from power.
