New Delhi, May 22: The National Testing Agency has told a parliamentary committee that there was no full scale leak of the NEET UG paper, while admitting that some questions had allegedly come out before the examination. The clarification was given by NTA Director General during a meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee related to the Education Ministry, according to sources cited by ABP Live.
During the meeting, the NTA DG was questioned about the alleged paper leak and the decision to conduct the examination again. He reportedly said that the agency’s immediate priority is to conduct the June 21 examination smoothly and without any disruption.
On the leak allegations, the NTA DG denied that the entire paper was leaked. He said information had emerged about some questions being leaked, after which the paper was cancelled. He also told the committee that the matter is now under CBI investigation, and only the probe agency can confirm how many questions were leaked and who was involved.
Officials also informed the committee that a fresh paper is being prepared for the June 21 exam. They said strict action has been sought against those found guilty in the case. The government and NTA have asked the investigation agency to act quickly and firmly against all those linked to the alleged leak.
Education Ministry officials further stated that after the June 21 examination, the entire examination system for next year will be reviewed to prevent such incidents in future. The meeting lasted from 11 am to 4 pm and was attended by senior officials of the NTA and the Education Ministry.
