New Delhi: In a nail-biting thriller at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Rajasthan Royals on Saturday snatched a dramatic 6-run victory over Gujarat Titans in Match 9 of IPL 2026.
RR posted a challenging 210 for 6 in 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Gujarat Titans fought hard in the chase but fell short at 204 for 8, despite a strong position at one stage.
Dhruv Jurel starred with the bat for Royals, smashing a quick 75 off just 42 balls studded with five fours and five sixes. Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a solid start with 55 runs, while young Vaibhav Suryavanshi chipped in with 31.
For Gujarat Titans, Sai Sudharsan played a fighting knock of 73 off 44 balls, but the middle order could not accelerate enough in the death overs.
The turning point came with the ball. Ravi Bishnoi was the hero for RR, picking up four crucial wickets for 41 runs in his four overs, earning him Player of the Match honours. In the final two overs, when GT needed 15 runs, Jofra Archer and Tushar Deshpande delivered clutch performances. Deshpande defended 11 runs in the last over with nerves of steel — starting with a wide, followed by singles, a dot ball, a wicket, and finishing with another dot to seal the win.
This victory marks Rajasthan Royals’ second consecutive win, pushing them to second spot on the points table. Gujarat Titans, despite a promising chase that reached 196 in 18 overs, could not cross the line.
The match kept fans on the edge of their seats till the very last ball, proving once again why IPL remains the most exciting T20 league in the world.
