The apex court issued notices to the central government and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), demanding detailed explanations for the sharp rises that have made flying unaffordable for many.
The action stems from a slew of petitions and public complaints highlighting how airfares have surged disproportionately, especially during peak seasons and festivals.
