Gurugram: In a bold pivot from steel to streets, the Jindal Group has unveiled Trevel, an all-electric cab service poised to disrupt India’s congested urban mobility landscape.
Launching from Gurugram, Trevel targets Delhi’s bustling airport and city routes, offering a greener alternative to giants like Ola, Uber, and Rapido.
Backed by the group’s longstanding partnership with MG Motor India through JSW MG Motor — established in 2019 — Trevel will deploy the sleek MG Windsor EV fleet.
The company aims to scale up to over 500 electric vehicles by 2026, underscoring a commitment to sustainable transport amid India’s push for net-zero emissions.
What sets Trevel apart? Drivers receive fixed monthly salaries, ditching the commission grind that often plagues the sector. Riders face zero penalties for cancellations, with an ironclad guarantee of 100 per cent on-time arrivals. Booking options are flexible: summon a cab on demand, schedule ahead, or opt for city jaunts, airport shuttles, or hourly hires.
Safety takes centre stage, with every vehicle equipped with dashcams, real-time GPS tracking, and live location sharing for peace of mind. While fare details remain under wraps, Trevel’s ethos of reliability shines through its recent social media buzz. “Real Travellers. Real reviews. No cancellations. No confusion. Just smooth, reliable rides,” proclaimed a December 13 tweet from @trevel_ind, inviting users to experience the difference.
As urban India grapples with traffic snarls and environmental woes, Trevel’s entry signals a fresh chapter in mobility. Will it dent the dominance of established players? Early signs suggest commuters are ready for the ride.
