New Delhi: Speculation is intensifying within Rajasthan’s political corridors regarding a potential cabinet reshuffle in Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s government.

This surge in conjecture follows Sharma’s recent visits to Delhi, where he engaged in discussions with senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The timing of these meetings has fuelled anticipation of imminent changes in the state’s cabinet.

Currently, the Rajasthan cabinet comprises 24 ministers, leaving six vacant positions. The BJP is reportedly considering the inclusion of new faces to address regional and community representation, particularly in areas where the party faced setbacks in recent elections.

Notably, the Shekhawati and tribal regions are under scrutiny for potential ministerial appointments. Additionally, there is speculation about the possible inclusion of loyalists from Vasundhara Raje’s team, such as Kalicharan Saraf and Shrichand Kriplani, to strengthen the party’s base.

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s recent political activities have further fuelled these speculations. After a period of relative seclusion, Raje has re-engaged with the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership, meeting with figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. These interactions have led to conjecture about her potential return to active politics and the possibility of her loyalists being accommodated in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle.

The BJP’s strategic focus appears to be on balancing internal factional interests and ensuring adequate representation ahead of forthcoming local elections. All eyes are focused on the party’s decisions in the upcoming weeks as political manoeuvring continues.
