New Delhi: Numerous security officials from India are working to establish effective countermeasures after a Pahalgam terror attack took 26 lives. Indian military intelligence met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Lok Kalyan Marg Delhi residence to discuss the situation with key officials, including Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh and Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi along with Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Ajit Doval. The strategic plan to refute Pakistan’s involvement in the April 22 assault stands close to completion based on sources’ information.

Terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who were linked to murderous activities conducted the Pahalgam massacre against visitors at Baisaran Valley in Jammu and Kashmir, which provoked widespread national condemnation. India holds Pakistan fully responsible for the attack because the National Investigation Agency (NIA) determined that Hashim Musa and other operatives, including Hashim Musa, a former Pakistani para-commando, carried out this operation. New Delhi has taken strong retaliatory measures by shutting down Pakistani flights from its airspace and blocking the Attari-Wagah border as well as suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.

A string of security talks started last week after PM Modi met with important security officials, including Rajnath Singh, Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and three chief military officers. The reported military mandate from PM Modi to India’s military leaders gave them full authority to select their response methods and execution dates and objectives, thus elevating expectations that they would launch military attacks. After the attack, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) gathered to reinforce their commitment to delivering a “befitting reply”, as stated by Rajnath Singh.

The IAF chief made his visit on Sunday and followed it by meeting with Modi, who had already spoken with the Navy chief on Saturday, thus indicating strong collaboration between military forces. Multiple strategic approaches are under consideration for implementation by government representatives who aim to unite military operations with diplomatic and economic measures. The Indian Navy distributed warnings about coast-based firing drills near Gujarat while South Kashmir security forces execute thorough searches for remaining terrorists.

International powers have paid attention to the rising tensions after the attack, while Gulf nations and the United States and Russia jointly called for calm and denounced the assault. Pete Hegseth of the US Defence Secretary called Rajnath Singh to confirm his support for Indian self-defence rights and showed solidarity. International tensions continue to rise because Pakistan’s aggressive behaviour comprises nuclear threats and missile launches, which pushes diplomatic relations toward critical conditions after Deputy PM Ishaq Dar declared blocking Indus waters will be an “act of war”.

National mourning for Pahalgam victims confirms that India strongly intends to prosecute those responsible for the attack. Nationwide readiness at the highest level, together with active diplomatic communication, leads the nation towards a crucial turning point in India’s battle against terrorism supported from across borders.
