New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to organise a special parliamentary session about the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 lives.
The special session of Parliament offers an effective way to illustrate India’s mutual dedication against terrorism, according to Kharge in his letter. He requested the prime minister to organise the session without delay.
According to Rahul Gandhi, the attack had caused outraged emotions across every Indian population, as the nation needed to demonstrate unbreakable solidarity against terrorism. Kharge’s demand for a special parliamentary session found agreement from the parliamentarian, as he wanted representatives to showcase their unified force against terrorism.
Following a political leaders’ gathering on April 24, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah briefed the lawmakers about the incident. Party leaders discussed security weaknesses, yet they fully backed government policy and asked for joint national action.
Leaders of the opposition party released their messages publicly to demonstrate nationwide support against terrorist incidents.
