Mumbai: The Indian Premier League season 18 has not been kind to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Having lost 6 out of their 8 matches so far, the five-time champions were recently defeated by the Mumbai Indians, who thumped them by 9 wickets.

MS Dhoni has also raised concerns about CSK’s performance after the loss. He identified the cracks in the team and promised to return stronger next season.
According to him, CSK has achieved over the years came down to playing high-quality cricket. But when they don’t, don’t fuss too much with emotion about it. Looking back at previous seasons, Dhoni said, “CSK didn’t have many favorable fortune last year (2020) so focus on playing well cricket.”
CSK’s Focus Moving Forward
The former India captain, in fact, said they now have to win all the remaining matches. Defeat would see them needing to assemble the right personnel for next term. He highlighted the need to shoot for the playoffs. But if that does not happen, the team would work with the strongest eleven to prepare for the following year. He assured fans that CSK would return stronger next season.

CSK now must win all their matches to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs; the equation is simple. However, the journey won’t be simple, as they face challenging matches against Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Titans, all of whom are thriving this season.
