Mumbai: People of all age groups widely love Bollywood’s ‘Shahenshah’ Amitabh Bachchan. But pop quiz: who’s his biggest fan, if not his wife, Jaya Bachchan? In a recent episode from season 16 of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh revealed an intriguing fact about how Jaya is a big fan of another Bollywood superstar, leaving the audience in splits.
This special episode had a lot of interesting stories. It was graced by Aamir Khan and his son, Junaid Khan, as the contestants. During the show, Aamir asked Amitabh about Jaya’s favorite actor, which led to some very entertaining banter.
Aamir asked, “Jaya Ji has worked with so many great actors. We all knew that when she was going to a shoot, she would be working with someone; was there any actor whose name made you feel uncomfortable?” Amitabh chuckled and said, “Sir, I never had any problem. Dharmendra’s very first love, on finals day, Jaya told me her favorite actor. No one in our industry is more good-looking than him, she said “.”
Upon hearing this, Aamir concurred and noted that it was only natural for Jaya to admire Dharmendra. Amitabh also disclosed that Jaya was a big fan of actor Sanjeev Kumar, with whom she starred in a few films. Amitabh revealed that she was also a fan of Hari Bhai and Sanjeev Kumar and did several films with him.
Aamir also reminisced as he spoke about an old film, Anamika, which was produced by Aamir’s father and starred Jaya and Sanjeev Kumar.
Jaya Bachchan, who made her film debut through the still-revered 1963 Hindi drama Mahaanagar, reached stardom during Guddi (1971), where Dharmendra starred with her. This era was when Jaya was well-established as one of the leading actresses in the industry. Amitabh and Jaya’s pairing was a hit from the 1973 blockbuster Zanjeer, which made Amitabh a star, with the two getting hitched soon after.
