New Delhi: In a major announcement, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday declared a big relief related to the upcoming board exams, which is viewed as a ‘Holi gift’ for the students. In light of Holi celebrations taking place on the same day, on March 15, the board has announced that the students who may miss the Hindi Core and Elective exams will be given an opportunity for a special exam. This decision is expected to alleviate concerns among students and parents, especially in states where Holi celebrations extend beyond March 14.
The original plan was for the exams to proceed as usual on March 15. But since Holi is being celebrated in different parts of the country on either March 14 and in some places on the following day (March 15), the CBSE has provided a special provision for those students. This step was in sync with the policy of the board to hold the special examination for the students who participate in the national or international competitions.
The CBSE says the main exam will be held on March 15, but those who can’t attend due to Holi holidays can take it later. This decision has brought relief to students and parents who were worried about managing their exams with the festival. Schools were told they need to notify all students of this arrangement to enable pupils to make an informed decision about their participation; fuller details are below.
