What India Gets from Modi’s France Visit?

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited France for a diplomatic outreach and then embarked on his state visit to the US. He joined French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris for the AI Action Summit, where they co-chaired a session promoting open-source systems to foster trust and transparency. Modi also suggested that the next summit be held in India.

At the summit, Modi met JD Vance and his family. Posting pictures of this meeting on X (previously Twitter), the Prime Minister said, “I am delighted to be part of some celebrations for the birthday of Vance’s son, Vivek.”

Thus, it was decided that India would be hosting the next AI summit later this year, announced S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Modi also met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Paris and posted a picture of the meeting on X.

The Prime Minister’s itinerary included a very public tribute to freedom fighter V.D. Savarkar in Marseille, southern France. Modi said the city holds a special place for India in its fight for freedom.

While in France, Modi invited business houses from France to partner in India’s growth story and told them it was the right time to invest in India. “So I’ll tell all of you that now is the time to come to India. India’s progress is associated with the progress of all.

The vice president said Modi has a good take on AI, saying it will help and be more productive without replacing humans.

The PM is on a tour of the U.S.A. , where he is making his first visit as a Prime Minister. He will meet Mr. Donald Trump and his family, as well as business leaders and the Indian community.
