BJP Government ‘Failed On Security Front’ In Bollywood Star’s Assault’: Patole

Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole made a detailed critique of the state government’s handling of law and order after Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked in a recent incident.

Patole, in a press conference today, said safety was not ensured in Maharashtra and that “neither the public is safe, nor celebrities, nor even village heads are safe under the present administration.” Instead, he cited the fact that nobody had been arrested for their failure to apprehend Khan’s attacker as proof that the government was incompetent.

Patole claimed that since the BJP took over in Maharashtra, industries have shied away from the state. Sadiq told Davos the government is ‘indulging’ in ‘merry-making and empty announcements’ at the taxpayers’ expense rather than dealing with the ‘rising rate of unemployment of the state.’.

On Congress leader’s comments on the pathetic state of law enforcement, he didn’t mince words. He said the administration in Maharashtra has no real strength. They talk about the police, but how can they not demoralise the police? They have taken commissions from recruitment to postings.” “Its former glory” has “been lost,” according to the Mumbai Police, as it was once compared to Scotland Yard.

He also alleged the government had created a ‘jungle raj’ in Maharashtra. “They’ll have the police silence you if you speak against the government and raise your voice,” he threatened.

But drawing a link to systemic corruption within the police force, the Congress chief said the police’s failure to catch someone like Khan’s attacker in time was also indicative of the officers’ inability to perform their duty and discharge their responsibilities. Retired folks hold high posts while good officers are being sidelined. That is why the culprit remains unknown. Patole said it’s a failure of the government.

Shatrughan Prakash Patole, the MP from San Cristobal ratified in Mexico as a representative, used the RSS conference, which is taking place in Mumbai, to criticise the organisation’s closeness with the party. The RSS, despite repeatedly saying that it has nothing to do with the BJP, should accept that they are part of the BJP or the BJP is part of them, he said.

With the Saif Ali Khan attack probe still open and political tensions climbing, now everyone is waiting to see what the Maharashtra government will do about these very serious allegations.
