Mumbai: The highly awaited Ram Charan and Kiara Advani headliner ‘Game Changer’ roared at box office, making ₹186 crore worldwide on its opening day. The 10 January opening of the political drama, a wait for which many fans had been holding their breath, has divided critics but succeeded in mesmerising them with its grand scale and star power.
As per reports on Sacnilk, the film grossed an impressive ₹51.25 crore in India, while the worldwide collection is $100 million ( ₹ 6.63 billion) with collections from China yet to be released. But it’s the worldwide totals that have had cash registers chiming.
The production house, Sri Venkateswara Creations, took to social media to announce the film’s phenomenal worldwide collection, sharing a poster of Ram Charan with the caption: “2025’s great entertainment enters King-sized King size entertainment enters ‘the theatres’, as 2025’s great entertainer ‘Game Changer’ takes a blockbuster opening at the box office.” Bombay 18th Jun 2019: India’s Blockbuster ‘Game Changer’ grossed 186 crores worldwide on Day 1.”
The performance of this remarkable opening has been better than recent blockbusters like Prabhas starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ which opened at ₹180 crore globally last year. Starring Akkineni Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt, the Dil Raju banner’s production, S. Shankar’s directorial, has been shaped up with an ensemble cast of Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Teja, S.J. Surya, Nassar, Brahmanandam, Vennela Kishore, and Murali Sharma.
With ‘Game Changer’ currently in theatres, industry professionals are paying attention to how it performs in the coming days to see if it can sustain this pace and even make it to other box office records.
