BEIJING: China recently unveiled an update, to its visa free transit rules by extending the stay duration to 10 days for tourists from 54 nations like the United States—a departure from the limit of 72 to 144 hours—as part of efforts to bounce back, from three years of pandemic related seclusion as the globes second largest economy.
The latest regulation announced by Beijing on Tuesday allows international tourists to arrive through 60 entry points spread across 24 provinces, in Chinas landscape – including destinations such as Beijing and Shanghai. To be eligible for this arrangement visitors are required to show flight tickets confirming their departure, from China within a 10 day period.
Chinas efforts to boost its economy include a focus, on attracting visitors and business travelers from around the world through this program that covers passport holders from several countries, in North America, Europe and Asia; however travelers are required to follow certain restrictions based on their location while visiting.
China has recently eliminated the need, for visas for people from 38 countries who can now stay for up to 30 days without a visa requirement in place.However the United States is notably absent from this list of nations that benefit from this expanded visa waiver program which includes countries such, as France,Malaysia New Zealand Japan and Switzerland.
