Dharmendra Pradhan Outlines School Reforms and Future Goals In Press Conference

NewDelhi: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared insights, about the changes in schools under Prime Minister Narendra Modis leadership during a media briefing in New Delhi today The comparison between the academic years 2013 to 2014 and 2023 to 2024 underscored substantial enhancements in school infrastructure availability of technology and progress, in skill focused education nationwide.

He mentioned that the proportion of schools, with electricity has risen significantly from 52 percent in the year 2013 to 2014 to a 92 percent now. Likewise the presence of computers in schools has gone up from 41 point two percent to 52 point one percent. However the notable advancement has been in internet availability.” Back, in 2013 seven point four percent of schools had internet access. The Ministry of Education has also made efforts to reduce the strain on students by taking measures.Prime Minister Prakash announced the printing of 15 crore textbooks, for the academic year to ensure affordability for millions of students.Additionally National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with giants like Amazon and Flipkart.These agreements will enable NCERT textbooks to be sold at their price (MRP) on these platforms enabling easier access for students all, over the country.

Pradhan emphasized the importance of enhancing learning results by mentioning the survey carried out through the National Achievement Survey (NAS) program; “As of December 4th, in 2024 ” he stated ” we completed a sample survey encompassing than 23.87 lakh schools.” Additionally ” a forthcoming district level survey as part of NAS is in the works to gain insights, into the education landscape and pinpoint areas that need focus.”
