New Delhi: India’s largest carrier IndiGo on Wednesday announced the availability of a domestic ‘Getaway Sale’, selling flight tickets starting from ₹111. The divestment news comes a day after Air India and Vistara have fully integrated with each other – one of the biggest milestones in the Indian airline industry. To this new scenario, IndiGo’s latest move is aimed at attracting more travelers and thus counter Air India Express recent low fare dawns.
The IndiGo ‘Getaway Sale’ offers festive fares on the various routes both within the domestic and international category; the connecting services such as meals and luggage have also listed an extra 15% off on them. The availability is for booking 11-13 November, 2024, for travel starting 1st January – 30 April 2025. The domestic standard sale allows travellers to secure standard seats starting at ₹111 and one-way domestic fares at ₹1,111. International fares begin at ₹4,511 for one-way tickets for one way tickets.
The sale is valid for IndiGo domestic sectors on non-stop flights only, which are clearly stated on IndiGo’s website and application Their codeshare flights or flights with connectivity are not covered in this sale so this will suit travelers who want straightforward connections.
Explaining the concept of the sale, the chief marketing officer said that with New Year and the spring travel season just around the corner, fliers are given a chance to book cheap flights far in advance. It is only a week after its counterpart, Air India Express launched a flash sale with Express Lite fares at ₹1,444 and Express Value fares at ₹1,599. The Air India Express sale also ends on Nov 13, so you can still grab a ticket to fly between November 19, 2024 and April 30, 2025.
While Air India and Vistara have found common ground in Tata Group, IndiGo’s aggressive move gives a shape to new dynamics in Indian airline industry.
