India A got their chops in order with the intention of making a target of 225 for the match after scoring 312 in the second innings with contribution from centurian Sai Sudharsan. But that was not the case with Australia A had other things in mind. They went after the target with more or less ease and only three wickets had fallen by the time they had got there.
Taking the mantle of captaincy and leading the Australia A side was Nathan McSweeney who not only batted brilliantly but was also the top scorer for his side scoring 88 runs off 178 balls with the help of nine fours and was still not out. Earning an opposite skirt was Beau Webster, who vowed vigorously with an unbeaten 61 of 117 balls. Their century partnership which paved the way to set victory for Australian A team in the middle of the century was remarkable.
The match was not free from controversies but the carry on, would have made a bestseller. Players were left fuming after umpire Sean Craig used that as a reason to change with ball on the fourth day as it had scratches. The Indian players came out openly expressing dissatisfaction during the heated discussion towards the end of the game but to no avail as their discussion only added to the much heated up energy of the match. After that contentious call, the India A bowlers who dismissed three in their second innings on Wednesday could not bag any wickets.
Australia A had got a lead of 88 runs in the first innings, which paved way for the successful chase. After seeing this level of excitement of this match, fans eagerly look forward to the next face off between the complete full international teams.
