Mumbai: The new release of the official IPL retention lists for all teams until the IPL 2025 season has brought some interesting changes. A big twist is that MS Dhoni will be around in the 2025 seasons only, thanks to CSK have retained him. However, Delhi Capitals have released Pant and the Lucknow Super Giants have released KL Rahul. Mumbai Indians have retained five players, including Rohit Sharma, while Bangalore has chosen only three: Virat Kohli, namely Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal. Punjab Kings, too, have retained only two players of their stake.

Mumbai Indians have locked in five players: Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav, Kishan Hardik Pandya, Jaspreet Bumrah, Tilak Verma. While Mumbai Indians earned the most at ₹18 crore, they retained Jasprit Bumrah for that price as Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya were retained for ₹16.35 each. Rohit Sharma was retained at ₹16.30 crore and Tilak Varma at ₹organisms/8 crore.
Delhi Capitals released Rishabh Pant
Axar Patel has been provided ₹16.50 crore, the highest by Delhi Capitals in terms of retention. Kuldeep Yadav comes next in the list for ₹13.25 crore; Tristan Stubbs and Abhishek Porel for ₹10 crore and ₹4 crore respectively.
Kolkata Knight Riders let go of Shreyas Iyer
When it was least expected, Kolkata Knight Riders parted ways with their captain Shreyas Iyer. Royal Challengers Bangalore have taken everyone by a huge surprise with them letting go off only three players. KL Rahul gets dropped from the Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants have done the unthinkable by releasing their Skipper, KL Rahul. Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Yadav were signed at ₹11 crore, and Nicholas Pooran was retained at ₹21 crore. Mohsinkhan and Ayush Badoni are somehow retained at ₹ 4 crores a piece.
CSK Retains Dhoni
For the five retained players, CSK has paid ₹18 crore for Ruturaj Gaikwad and ₹18 crore for Ravindra Jadeja. Companies retained Matheesha Pathirana at ₹ 13 crore, Shivam Dube at ₹ 12 crore and Dhoni at ₹ 4 crore.
Gujarat Titans’ Big Moves
Rashid is still by Gujarat Titans for ₹18 crore and the skipper Shubman Gill is by them for ₹16.5 crore. It retains Sai Sudharsan at ₹8.5 crore, Rahul Tewatia takes ₹4 crore, and Shahrukh Khan is also at ₹4 crore.
Punjab Kings Rs to retain two Players
There have only two players retained at Punjab Kings with a budget of ₹₹ 5.5 crores and ₹ 4 crores respectively with Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh respectively.
