BJP’s Candidate Line-Up For November By-Elections: Wayanad And 47 Assembly Seats

New Delhi: The ever-popular India’s political party the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled the list of the candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha as well as Assembly by-elections. New Delhi: The party announced names for one LS seat and several assembly seats in eight states, gearing up for major poll fights.

After a long wait, the BJP has released Navya Haridas for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala where she will compete with Congress member Priyanka Gandhi. This leaves this as a crucial arena of contest as both the two major national political parties go to battle in Kerala.

Amidst Assembly Candidates Across States
Regarding the Kerala Assembly by-election BJP has fielded its candidate Nihar Ranjan Das for the reserved SC constituency of Dholai. Other candidates are Diganta Ghatowar from Behali, Diplu Ranjan Sharma from Samaguri, and others.

In Bihar, Vishal Prashant has been selected to contest from Tarari and Ashok Kumar Singh has been selected for Ramgarh.

In Chhattisgarh, the BJP has put up Sunil Soni for Raipur City South, which the party hopes will retain a strategic seat in the state capital.

In Karnataka, Bharat Basavaraj Bommai will be the candidate of Shiggaon, and for Sandur the candidate of BJP is Bangaru Hanumant. These selections suggest that the BJP is keen on deepening its organizational profiles in Karnataka.

In the current Kerala Assembly by-elections the party has fielded Sri Krishna Kumar for Palakkad constituency and K.Balakrishnan for Chelakkara, which is a Scheduled caste seat.

Ramnivas Rawat has been nominated for Vijaypur, and Ramakant Bhargava has been declared a candidate for Budhni, which are two major seats for the party.

The selections for Rajasthan and West Bengal
Rajasthan finds several important BJP candidates on this ground, such as Rajendra Bhambu of Jhunjhunu, Sukhwant Singh of Ramgarh, Jagmohan Meena of Dausa, Rajendra Gurjar of Deoli Uniara, Rewant Ram Danga for Khanwas, and Shanta Devi Meena of ST reserved seat Salumber.

For the SC-reserved seat of Sitai, Deepak Kumar Roy has been nominated, for the ST-reserved seat of Madarihat- Rahul Lohar, Naihati– Rupak Mitra, Haroa-Bimal Das, Medinipur- Subhajit Roy and Taldangra-Ananya Roy Chakraborty.

Polling and Results
By-elections will be conducted on the 13th of November on 47 assembly constituencies in 13 states and the counting will be held on 23rd of November. Also, the Election Commission had declared the dates of Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand on October 15.
