New Delhi: BJP MP and Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has sparked a significant political uproar with her recent declaration that the three contentious agricultural laws will be reinstated. Her statement has provided a substantial advantage to the Congress party amidst the ongoing assembly elections, leading to a flurry of responses from both sides of the political spectrum.
In the wake of Kangana’s remarks, Congress leaders have launched a vigorous campaign against her, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a fervent video message, Gandhi questioned the decision-making process within the government, asking, “Who is deciding the policy of the government? BJP MP or Prime Minister Modi?”

He emphasized the need to honour these martyrs, criticising Modi for not allowing even a two-minute silence in their memory. “Prime Minister Modi, please clarify about it. Are you against such a statement or is there any such intention? Are you going to enforce the black laws again?” Gandhi demanded, further warning that any conspiracy by the BJP to undermine farmers would lead to the dissolution of the India alliance.
The backlash against Kangana has forced BJP leaders to address her controversial statements. Gaurav Bhatia, a senior BJP spokesperson, swiftly distanced the party from Kangana’s remarks, stating, “Kangana’s statement does not represent the views of the BJP. We have advised her to refrain from making policy statements without proper consultation.” Despite these assurances, the damage to the BJP’s image has been substantial, with key NDA constituents echoing the discontent.
JDU leader KC Tyagi condemned Kangana’s comments, describing them as “dangerous and insulting,” while Chirag Paswan remarked that her statements were likely personal opinions and not reflective of the party or government stance. “Kangana’s words are her own and do not represent the BJP’s policies or intentions,” Paswan asserted.
Kangana’s influence as a Bollywood actress and BJP MP has undeniably stirred the political landscape, giving Congress a strategic advantage in the Haryana assembly elections.
