Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s health took a turn for the worse on Tuesday, 17th September, after he reportedly lost his balance while disembarking from a plane at Chandigarh Airport. Witnesses observed CM Mann briefly sitting down after losing his footing, before security staff assisted him into a car nearby.
Following the incident, Mann was administered a drip at his residence in Chandigarh, where he returned earlier in the day from Delhi. Despite the health scare, the chief minister soon departed for Delhi again, where it is expected he will undergo a thorough checkup at Apollo Hospital.
Although no official information has been released regarding the cause of the chief minister’s sudden health decline, it is believed that his recent exposure to heavy rain in Delhi may have contributed to his condition. CM Mann had been present to greet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was recently released from Tihar Jail. During the event, Mann was seen getting drenched in the rain, which is speculated to have impacted his health.
This is not the first time Bhagwant Mann has faced health issues. In 2022, Mann was hospitalised after drinking water directly from the holy Kali Bein river in Sultanpur Lodhi, an act that led to a severe stomach ache. He was subsequently admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi for treatment.
As Punjab’s leadership remains focused on the CM’s well-being, the state awaits further updates on his condition as he continues his checkup in Delhi.
