Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan is taking bold steps with his upcoming film, Sikandar. Known for his blockbuster hits over a three-decade-long career, Salman has decided to fully trust the South Indian film industry this time around, placing three significant bets to make Sikandar a monumental success.
Salman Khan, fondly called Bhaijaan, is currently undergoing a physical transformation for the film despite suffering from two broken ribs. His commitment remains unwavering, and he has chosen to rely entirely on the team for Sikandar without his usual habit of making changes to the script or choreography. This faith in his new collaborators could pay off, but fans will have to wait until the film’s release next year to find out.
Betting on the South Industry
After expressing disappointment with his experience on Tiger 3, Salman decided to follow a path similar to Shah Rukh Khan’s. Shah Rukh recently collaborated with South director Atlee for Jawan, which went on to become a massive hit, earning a staggering ₹1100 crores at the box office. Inspired by this success, Salman has teamed up with acclaimed South Indian director AR Murugadoss for Sikandar. Salman’s first big gamble is his choice to work with Murugadoss, hoping that the collaboration will lead to similar success.
A Southern Star Power: Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal
Salman’s second bet is on Rashmika Mandanna, one of South India’s most popular actresses. Rashmika, who garnered significant acclaim for her role in Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor, which grossed over ₹900 crores, brings with her a massive fan following. The pairing of Salman and Rashmika is already generating excitement among fans, with many hopeful that this duo will bring luck to Sikandar.
His third bet is on Kajal Aggarwal, another top South actress, chosen as the film’s second lead. Kajal, known for her roles in Bollywood hits like Singham and Special 26, adds further star power to Sikandar. Interestingly, Salman has opted not to cast any Bollywood actresses for this film, placing full confidence in his Southern choices. The inclusion of both Rashmika and Kajal aims to draw a wider audience and could prove to be a winning formula.
Shooting Commences with Enthusiasm
The shooting of Sikandar has already begun, and both Rashmika and Kajal have joined the sets. The actresses received a warm welcome on their first day, setting an optimistic tone for the production. With Salman’s faith firmly placed in the South Indian talent, the film industry and fans alike are eagerly watching to see if these gambles will pay off and make Sikandar a historic hit in Hindi cinema.
As the project progresses, all eyes are on whether Bhaijaan’s trust in the South Industry will bring a fresh wave of success and redefine his cinematic journey.
