Patna: The political atmosphere in Bihar is heating up as the Leader of the Opposition and former Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav, continues to criticise the government over rising criminal incidents in the state. Not only has Yadav been vocal in the media, but he has also been actively issuing statements on social media platform X. Adding fuel to the fire, an MLA from his party has now compared Tejashwi Yadav to Lord Krishna.
Israil Mansuri, a former minister in the Bihar government and the current MLA from the Kanti assembly, made this bold comparison during a function on Janmashtami in Vaishali on Monday (August 26). Mansuri urged the people to elect Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Minister in 2025, asserting that Yadav would rid Bihar of criminals, rapists, and goons. The statement was made publicly and shared by Mansuri on his X account, where he drew parallels between Tejashwi Yadav and the divine incarnation of Lord Krishna, who, according to Hindu mythology, appeared to eradicate unrighteousness and restore dharma.
However, the comparison has sparked a sharp response from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP spokesperson Prabhakar Mishra ridiculed the statement, calling the appeal to make Tejashwi Yadav the Chief Minister in 2025 in the name of curbing crime “absurd.” Mishra criticised the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders for what he termed as sycophancy, stating that comparing Tejashwi Yadav to Lord Krishna was akin to “showing a lamp to the sun.”
Mishra also took the opportunity to remind the public of the infamous crime rates during RJD’s previous rule in Bihar, which led to a mass exodus of traders and a tarnished image for the state. He accused RJD leaders of forgetting their history and culture, dismissing Mansuri’s comments as a desperate attempt to glorify Tejashwi Yadav.
