New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convened a crucial meeting of the Chief Minister’s Council at its headquarters, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the discussions. The meeting, held on Saturday, saw the participation of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from all BJP and NDA-ruled states, focusing on enhancing governance and coordination between the Centre and states.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of good governance and urged state leaders to adopt and implement the best practices from each other’s models. He stressed working in mission mode to achieve 100 percent saturation of all Union Government schemes, underlining the need for comprehensive implementation across the states.
A total of 13 chief ministers and 15 deputy chief ministers from 16 NDA-ruled states attended the two-day meeting, which began at the BJP headquarters. Notably, the deputy chief ministers from Maharashtra, Bihar, and Nagaland represented their states, as there are no BJP chief ministers in these regions.
According to party sources, the discussions focused on how the Centre and the states could complement each other to strengthen India’s federal structure through better coordination. The meeting also provided a platform for state leaders to discuss challenges faced in implementing central schemes and to seek support from the Centre.
Prime Minister Modi presented a roadmap for the central government’s future initiatives, while the chief ministers shared insights into their states’ best schemes and policies. The meeting aimed to enhance Centre-state coordination within the party and strengthen the overall party strategy.
Top BJP leaders, including BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, also attended the meeting. The agenda included an analysis of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, strategies for forthcoming assembly elections, and the effective implementation of both central and state government schemes in their respective states.
The meeting is seen as a key step in reinforcing the party’s governance model and ensuring cohesive efforts across all levels of government, as the BJP prepares for the upcoming elections.
