Pune: Pooja Khedkar, a probationary IAS officer in Pune, is currently embroiled in a series of controversies. The issues began with allegations of VIP demands in the District Magistrate’s office and escalated with accusations that she became an IAS officer using a fake disability certificate. Additionally, there are claims that she failed to undergo a mandatory medical test. Amidst these allegations, the Pune Police have seized her Audi car.
The seizure occurred at the Chaturshingi traffic department police station. Reports indicate that Khedkar had installed a blue light on her private Audi car, a privilege reserved for certain government officials. Despite being issued a notice by the Pune Police to present her car and its documents for verification, Khedkar failed to comply. Consequently, the police took legal action and seized the vehicle. Khedkar had previously paid a fine of Rs 27,600 for the same car two days prior.
In light of the controversies, Khedkar has been transferred from Pune to Washim district in Maharashtra. She will now serve as an officer in Washim. Khedkar, who secured an All India rank of 821 in the 2021 UPSC exam, had reportedly claimed a disability status to qualify.
Further investigations have revealed that Khedkar possesses significant assets. It has been disclosed that her annual income is Rs 42 lakh, and she holds assets valued at over Rs 17 crores. These revelations have sparked a broader controversy regarding the misuse of her property, appointment, and position.
As the investigations continue, the allegations against Khedkar have raised serious questions about transparency and integrity within the administrative services. The situation remains under scrutiny as authorities delve deeper into the claims and Khedkar’s professional conduct.
