New Delhi: In the ongoing T20 series between India and Zimbabwe, both teams have secured one win each in the first two matches. The third match of the five-match series is currently underway, with India off to a remarkable start.
Opening the innings, captain Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a solid foundation for the Indian team, sharing a partnership of over 50 runs for the first wicket, a milestone for India in T20 cricket. The Indian team put up an impressive total of 182 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 36 runs off 27 balls, while captain Shubman Gill led the charge with 66 runs off 49 balls. Contributions also came from Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 49 runs off 28 balls, and Sanju Samson, who added an unbeaten 12 runs off 7 balls. Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh chipped in with 10 and 1 not out, respectively.
For Zimbabwe, captain Sikandar Raza was the standout bowler, claiming 2 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs. Blessing Muzarabani also made an impact with 2 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs.
Zimbabwe now faces a challenging target of 183 runs to win.
