New Delhi: The security breach at the high-security Parliament complex on Wednesday has raised serious concerns, with questions being asked about the lapses in protocol. News agency PTI, citing sources, reported that six individuals were involved in the incident, five of whom have been arrested while one remains at large.
According to the sources, all six individuals were acquainted and had been residing together at the Housing Board Colony in Sector 7, Gurugram. Interestingly, police sources revealed that no mobile phones were recovered from any of the arrested individuals, further adding to the mystery surrounding the incident.
The five apprehended individuals played different roles in the disruption. Two individuals, identified as Manoranjan and Sagar Sharma, jumped from the visitors’ gallery of the Lok Sabha and landed on the floor below, causing chaos among the MPs. A video clip of the incident shows one of them pushing tables aside as he moved through the chamber.
The other three individuals, Neelam (resident of Ghasso Khurd village in Haryana’s Jind district), Amol Shinde (25, resident of Latur in Maharashtra), and an unidentified fifth person, were stopped outside the Parliament complex. Neelam and Amol were carrying canes and were reportedly attempting to enter the complex.
Further details emerged from different news sources, claiming that five individuals had arrived at Parliament House. Interestingly, all four of the arrested individuals (Neelam, Manoranjan, Sagar, and Amol) had handed their mobile phones to a sixth individual named Lalit, who fled the scene after the incident. The Delhi Police is currently investigating this aspect of the case, seeking to recover the missing mobile phones and understand Lalit’s role in the incident.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the vulnerability of the Parliament complex. A thorough investigation is underway to determine the motives behind the breach, identify the remaining individual, and ensure that such an incident never occurs again.
