Bhopal: The political landscape of Madhya Pradesh has shifted as Mohan Yadav was sworn in as the new Chief Minister, marking the end of the “Shiv Raj” era and the beginning of “Mohan Raj.” Joining him on this momentous occasion were his two deputy chief ministers, Jagdish Deora and Rajendra Shukla.
The ceremony was graced by prominent figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and the Chief Ministers of 11 BJP-ruled states. Outgoing Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar were also present to witness the transition.
While the event was filled with excitement and celebration for many, a tinge of sadness and disappointment was visible on the faces of some Ladli sisters, a group of women beneficiaries of the “Ladli Laxmi Yojana” implemented by Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Dulari Devi, a Ladli sister from Roshanpura, Bhopal, expressed her disappointment at Chouhan not being chosen as Chief Minister. She tearfully stated, “Mama Shivraj Singh Chouhan has done so much for children’s education, women, and everyone in Madhya Pradesh. We only voted for the BJP because of him. How can we forget him?”
Dulari further highlighted the contrast in treatment she received during Chouhan’s tenure compared to the present. “Back then, we were treated with respect and invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Today, they didn’t even let us enter. Many Ladli sisters were left standing outside, ignored, and forgotten.”
This sentiment resonated with other Ladli sisters, who expressed their resentment regarding the event’s organization. Their concerns highlight the mixed emotions surrounding the transition, with some celebrating the new leadership while others mourn the end of an era.
