New Delhi: A shocking security lapse occurred in the Lok Sabha today, marking the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack. Two individuals, identified as Amol Shinde (25) and Neelam (42), both from Maharashtra, managed to enter the Lok Sabha posing as visitors.
The incident unfolded during the ongoing winter session, when the duo breached security and jumped into the Well of the House, creating chaos and pandemonium. They then proceeded to jump from table to table, disrupting the proceedings.
Adding to the drama, the pair released a spray that emitted fluorescent gas, further escalating the tense situation. Amidst the commotion, they shouted slogans against a “black law,” prompting immediate action from the MPs.
Members of Parliament swiftly apprehended both individuals and handed them over to security personnel. Subsequent investigations revealed that Shinde and Neelam had concealed the spray inside their footwear.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police, along with the Intelligence Bureau, is currently interrogating the apprehended duo to determine their motive and uncover any potential links to extremist groups. Meanwhile, the Anti-Terror Unit of the Special Cell has also reached out to Parliament to assist in the investigation.
Adding another layer to the security breach, Delhi Police apprehended two individuals protesting outside Parliament with identical smoke canisters. Authorities are now questioning these individuals to ascertain their connection to those apprehended inside.
This major lapse in security raises serious questions about the vulnerability of Parliament and the effectiveness of security measures in place. A thorough investigation is underway to understand how Shinde and Neelam gained entry and what actions will be taken to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
