Mumbai: An under-construction flyover in Maharashtra’s Konkan region came crashing down on Monday, causing a deafening noise which startled passers-by and residents in the area.
CCTV footage captured the dramatic collapse of what was supposed to be the largest flyover in the region.
A video of the crumbling overpass has gone viral on social media platforms.
The sudden collapse of the flyover damaged all the machinery, including a crane, which were being used for its construction. No human casualties were reported.
CCTV footage, recorded from across the location of the bridge, shows vehicles moving normally on surrounding roads when the bridge starts to bend and eventually collapses. People are seen rushing towards the site to check on possible casualties.

According to reports, two girders in the middle of the Bahadur Sheikh Bridge broke, leading it to fall apart. Out of a total of 46 pillars, work up to the bridge’s sixth pillar had been completed.
