Mumbai: Kartik Aaryan, whose previous film ‘Satya Prem ki Katha’ with Kiara Advani did moderate business at the box office, is already working on his next film. And it promises to be a completely different kind of role.
Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Chandu Champion’ is a sports drama based on a real-life story of a sportsperson who never gives up. Though the makers haven’t spelt out details, Kartik reportedly plays the role of Murlikant Petkar, a freestyle swimmer and India’s first Paralympic gold-medallist.
Kartik is enjoying the work, evident from a still photo and details of his experience that he shared on social media on Thursday.
He wrote about an eight-minute-long single shot war sequence, which was his ‘most challenging and memorable’ shot of his young career.
“This 8-minute single-shot war scene turned out to be the most challenging, spectacular and yes, difficult but also the most memorable shot of my acting career. Thank you Kabir Khan sir for giving me a memory to cherish for a lifetime.”
The location of the shot was the picturesque Aru Valley in Jammu & Kashmir, 9000 feet above sea level where a giant army camp set was built for the film.
The preparation for the war sequence took five days of intensive rehearsals involving Kartik, Vijay Raaz and Bhuvan Arora. It was on the sixth day that the sequence was captured flawlessly and sealed.
The film, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, is scheduled to hit theatres on June 14, 2024.
