Pahalgam: A cloudburst near the holy cave shrine of Amarnath on Friday has resulted in loss human lives.
Two bodies have been recovered so far, but at least five people are feared dead, reported India Today.
The cloudburst took place at around 5.30 pm, resulting in heavy discharge of water near the shrine.
Three langars have reportedly been washed away. The rain has stopped, and rescue operations are underway with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel being rushed to the spot to help police, NDRF and SDRF teams.
“Some langars and tents have come under cloudburst/flash floods at #HolyCave. 02 deaths reported. #Rescue operation by Police, NDRF & SFs in progress. Injured being airlifted for treatment. #Situation under #control. IGP Kashmir,” tweeted Kashmir Police.

Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended on Tuesday due to bad weather.
The annual 43-day yatra began on June 30.
Over one lakh pilgrims have so far visited the cave shrine and offered prayers.
