New Delhi: For the first time since the new variant of coronavirus surfaced a month ago, India logged over 100 Omicron cases in a day.
According to data shared by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of Omicron cases in the country has gone up to 358.
The highly-transmissible strain has so far been found in 17 states. Like during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year, Maharashtra continues to lead vis-à-vis Omicron cases with 88, followed by Delhi (67).
Odisha, with 4 cases, is among eight states with single-digit Omicron cases till date.
