Cuttack: A PIL has been filed in Orissa High Court seeking its direction to probe DRDO espionage case by a Central investigation agency.
The petition, filed by Cuttack-based lawyer Arun Buddhia, stated that the Crime Branch, which is presently investigating into the case of international dimension, is not capable of revealing the truth and bringing the culprits to book.
Considering that the case relates to national security and defence capabilities, the sensitive case should be handed over to a national agency like CBI, NIA or SIT, Buddhia said and appealed to the High Court to issue necessary direction in this regard.
It may be noted that five employees of ITR of DRDO in Balasore district of Odisha have been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation has revealed that they were leaking sensitive information about missile tests from ITR to Pakistan.
Besides, it has also come to light that a woman based in Dubai had honey-trapped them to pass on the information.
