After Months, Indians To Be Issued UAE Tourist Visas

After months, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to issue tourist visas to Indian passport holders who have not been to the country in the last 14 days.

The UAE administration introduced strict restrictions earlier this year to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. Travellers from India and other countries were barred from flying to the UAE, which allowed only its own citizens and transit passengers, in the wake of a second wave of coronavirus in India and rising cases elsewhere too.

Now that fresh COVID cases are on the decline in India and with the overall situation showing definite improvement, UAE is slowly opening up.

According to a media report, besides India UAE will extended the visa facility to Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Uganda as well.

All flyers will, however, have to undergo a Polymerase Chain Reaction test on the day of arrival and again on Day 9 after arrival in the UAE.
