14 Sagarmala Projects Completed In Odisha: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

New Delhi: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday reviewed 46 Sagarmala projects being implemented in Odisha at a cost of Rs 57,379 crores.

During the review meeting held with officials of Shipping Ministry and Paradip Port chairman, Pradhan said 14 projects worth Rs 5,006 crore have already been completed, while 22 projects worth Rs 33,254 crore are under implementation and 10 projects worth Rs 19,059 are under development.

“These projects, which are focused on port modernisation, port connectivity, port-led industrialisation and coastal community development will transform Odisha’s coastline into an epicentre of economic development and international value chains,” said Pradhan.

The Shipping Ministry has released Rs 5 crore to the Fisheries department of Odisha government for the new fishing harbour at Chandipur in Balasore district, which is being set up with an investment of Rs 50 crore, he said.

The minister hoped that the new fishing harbour will improve the livelihood of the fishing community of Chandipur and nearby areas thereby contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of bringing about a “Blue Revolution” in Odisha.
