Bengaluru: While parts of the city were lit in flames of hatred, a group of Muslim youth on Tuesday night reportedly protected a temple in DJ Halli police station area by forming a human chain around it. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Violence erupted in the city after a controversial Facebook post on Prophet Muhammad was shared reportedly by a nephew of the Pulakeshinagar Congress MLA.
A huge mob attacked the MLA’s residence, and also DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations. The violence reportedly continued for 3 hours. The mob reportedly set 200-250 vehicles on fire. Three people lost their lives, and around 60 policemen were injured in the violence.
SDPI leader Muzamil Pasha and Naveen, the nephew of Murthy have been arrested for mob violence.
Section 144 has been imposed in the city.
