CBSE Exams 2020: Students To Take Examination In Own Schools, Result By July-End, Says HRD Minister

New Delhi: Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Tuesday announced that students will write the remaining CBSE exams in their own schools amid safety concerns due to coronavirus pandemic.

Doing away with the system of allotting examination centres, he said that this will ensure minimum travel for the students.

While the schools will ensure social distancing while conducting the exams, face masks and hand sanitizers have been made mandatory for the students, as per CBSE guidelines.

Besides this, the board will likely declare the results by July-end, the minister informed.

Meanwhile, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and University Grants Commission (UGC) are working on a framework to open schools and colleges after the lockdown ensuring health measures.

“There are 33 crore students and including parents, it becomes 99 crore and all of these are curious about when will school reopen and how will these function. We have yet to decide on the re-opening dates. The health of students is our top priority,” the minister said.

The remaining exams for classes X and XII will be conducted between July 1 and 15.
