Bhubaneswar: All public sector and private banks will remain closed for eight consecutive days from March 8 to March 15.
While March 8 and 15 are Sundays, banks will remain closed on March 9 and 10 on account of Holi celebrations as it is observed at different places on different dates. Post Holi, a three-day strike called by bank officials over a salary hike demand will have the shutters down till March 13. The following day is second Saturday again a holiday.
Besides, March 5 will also be a holiday in Odisha on account of Panchayati Raj Divas. Banks will remain closed in the state for 12 days this month.
In total, the month will see 15 non-working days on account of national holidays, weekly offs and regional holidays apart from Holi and the nationwide bank strike.
