Bye-Bye ‘Bulbul’, Rain Relief For Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The very severe cyclone Bulbul has weakened into cyclonic storm and is positioned over coastal Bangladesh, 160 km northeast of Khepupara, now. It is expected to weaken further into deep depression in the next six hours as it moves north eastwards.

“It is very likely to move east-northeastwards across Bangladesh and weaken into a cyclonic storm over coastal Bangladesh and adjoining south & north 24 Parganas districts of West Bengal during next 3 hours and into a deep depression during subsequent six hours,” according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s latest bulletin.

Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places in coastal districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. No heavy rainfall is expected in the state. 

‘Bulbul’ is being tracked by the Doppler Weather Radar at Kolkata in addition to other observing platforms. Maximum wind speed reported is 80-90 kmph gusting up to 100 kmph.

Sea condition will be rough to very rough over the northeast Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours, and fishermen have been against venturing into the sea, it added.
