Auckland: Indian woman cricketer Smriti Mandhana is now the holder of the record for the largest number of centuries scored by an Indian woman cricketer in one-day internationals (ODI). Mandhana outdoes Raj for this record while setting up India’s 2- 1 series win with her 100 plus run innings against New Zealand in the third ODI.
This was his eighth century in the ODIs and only six cricketers in the world have aggregated more centuries to their credit. Before this Indian record of seven test centuries in 232 matches was held by Mithali Raj. The maximum number of centuries in women’s ODI cricket is still registered by Australian Meg Lanning who scored 15 centuries during a prolific career which ended in 2023.
A second century in her seven-match Test career means that Mandhana has added to her total of ten international centuries. Across the ODI format, she has scored 3690 runs in 88 games, including 8 centuries and 27 fifties.

Smriti Mandhana is absolutely not new to setting records and achieving personal milestones with the Indian women’s cricket team. She also managed to become the quickest Indian woman to reach the 2000-OdI-run mark in just 51 innings. She also has been fastest to 3000 ODI runs / 76 innings by an Indian cricketer. Mandhana is now 113 runs away from scoring 8000 runs from international cricket. As of now the record for the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket still belongs to Mithali Raj with the women’s cross-format cumulative total of 10,868 runs.
Mandhana plays with a lot of consistency and is undoubtedly one of the brightest gems of Indian cricket at present adding which she has brought yet another triumph to the tally.
