New Delhi: Raising the benchmark in the premium hatchback segment, Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the highly anticipated 2026 Baleno Facelift in India. Packed with a host of advanced safety technologies, a refreshed design, and a new powertrain, the updated hatchback is launched at an attractive starting ex-showroom price of ₹6.10 lakh.
Bookings for the new model have already commenced across the country through Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa dealerships.
Major Safety Upgrade: Level 2 ADAS The most significant addition to the 2026 Baleno is the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Utilizing a combination of cameras and millimeter-wave radar, the ADAS suite includes cutting-edge safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, advanced emergency braking, and high-beam assist.
Standard safety equipment across all variants remains robust, offering six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, hill-hold assist, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
New 3-Cylinder Engine And CNG-AMT Under the hood, the facelifted Baleno ditches the older four-cylinder unit for a brand-new 1.2-litre Z12E naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine. This new motor is paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). In a major first for the model, the CNG variant will now also be available with the convenience of an AMT option, catering to urban commuters looking for fuel efficiency and ease of driving.
Refreshed Exterior And Premium Cabin While retaining its familiar silhouette, the exterior of the new Baleno looks sharper. It features a larger front grille with black horizontal slats, a newly sculpted front bumper, and slimmer LED headlamps. The side profile is highlighted by new 16-inch alloy wheels, while a striking new ‘Enigmatic Teal’ color option has been added to the palette.
Inside, the cabin layout is largely unchanged but gets a massive technological boost. The dashboard is dominated by a new 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other premium additions include a Clarion audio system, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and a 360-degree camera.
The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will continue its fierce rivalry with the Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20 in the Indian market.
