New Delhi: The 2025 MG Comet EV is the best-suited electric car under the bracket of Rs 5 lakh for buyers looking for an affordable EV. The mini-car, which was created for four passengers along with some level of luggage, has many features that make it a solid option for city driving.
Equipped with over 55 connected car features complemented by more than 100 voice commands, the MG Comet EV delivers on convenience and connectivity with this first-in-segment offering. It also has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a nifty 10.25-inch screen for infotainment, and a leather-covered steering wheel. It is sold at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, in which customers can buy a vehicle without a battery pack and pay a usage-based fee of Rs 2.5 per kilometre.
According to ARAI, the Comet EV’s 17.3 kWh battery can travel 230 km on a single charge. The battery is also protected from water and dust with an IP67 protection rating. With a 3.3 kW charger, it takes around 7 hours to charge the vehicle from 0–100% state of charge. For safety, it gets ABS with EBD, hill hold control, electronic stability control, an electronic parking brake, and front and rear disc brakes as standard.
