Mumbai: Jan Suraj convenor Prashant Kishor recently revealed how he functions as politician’s strategist besides explaining how much it costs to hire him. At an election rally in Belaganj, Gaya, Bihar, Kishor said that he now charges over ₹100 crores to advice political parties or leaders for elections. What he tried to stress was the point that his strategies are consciously determining the ten different state governments in India.
Regarding the most frequent questions about the campaign financing, he said, “they will always ask where my campaigns money comes from”. When governments in ten states are implementing my strategies do you think I will be short of funds to erect these tents and banners? If I counsel only one campaign, it generates more cash than most people could dream- more than enough to support campaign operations for at least two years.
In an India Today interview, he said that one campaign advice deal was enough to get enough money to finance wide election campaigns for a long time. Currently, Kishor is focused on Bihar’s upcoming Assembly by-elections, with Jan Suraj fielding candidates across four constituencies: The major centres, which are Belaganj, Imamganj, Ramgarh and Tarari.
The candidates in the list of Jan Suraj are Muhamamd Amjad from Belaganj, Jitender Paswan from Imamganj, Sushil Kumar Singh Kushwaha from Ramgarh, and Kiran Singh from Tarari. Kishor Campaigning for Mohammad Amjad Belaganj Kishor the recent visit was made on October 31 at Belaganj. The Bihar by-polls are slated for November 13 and the results will be declared on November 23.
In a culmination of his efforts on October 2, Kishor formally unveiled the ‘Jan Suraj Party’ and came out with Manoj Bharti as the interim chief of the party. This important address was delivered at the Veterinary Ground in Patna which can be considered as official inauguration of Jan Suraj after two years of Kishor’s state-wide Jan Suraj Padayatra starting from West Champaran.
